Joshua Javits is an arbitrator and mediator with over 30 years of experience in ADR.

JOB OPPORTUNITY:
Attorney/Arbitrator-full time research, prepare and analyze legal documents and write judgments and briefs based on hearings before arbitrator. $71, 594/year.  Must have law degree or equivalent plus one year experience as an arbitrator/attorney/barrister.

Arbitration
Coming to final and binding resolution of employment disputes by a neutral third party. Mr. Javits sits on 35 neutral arbitration panels and has arbitrated over 1,500 cases.

Mediation
Using a neutral third party to secure voluntary settlement of a dispute. Mr. Javits was Chairman of the National Mediation Board. He has mediated disputes in areas including employment, labor, contract, property, commercial and personal injury.

Ombudsman
Appointed by an organization as a resource for employees and managers to counsel or mediate in the workplace in order to prevent or resolve conflicts and to enhance productivity. Mr. Javits develops familiarity with individual companies to resolve multiple disputes in a way that recognizes their unique needs, and works to gain the confidence of all constituencies to make informal dispute resolution successful.

System Design and Training
Designing preventative procedures to resolve employment disputes, to avoid litigation, and to overcome obstacles to productivity. Mr. Javits has worked with numerous entities to develop effective conflict resolution procedures with enormous savings in litigation costs and exposure

The following training courses are offered:

Arbitration: Case evaluation, preparation and presentation.
Fact-finding: Workplace disputes including discrimination and sex harassment.
Labor and Management Negotiating Committees: Effective bargaining.
Team-building and Conflict Resolution: Managers, supervisors and HR personnel

Fact-Finding
Conducting professional investigations of employment disputes to protect against liability. Take affidavits and write summary evaluations in cases of alleged sex harassment, discrimination, unlawful termination, substance abuse, and others. Mr. Javits has been both a trial attorney and an investigator.
